The Daily Run

Every day our Sports Leaders organise the Daily Run, which gives pupils the opportunity to stay fit and healthy.

Science has long proven the importance of being physically active in helping our bodies and minds stay healthy.

Afternoon Exercise Break

Afternoons are dedicated to giving all children in school an exercise break. This is facilitated by the class teacher and can include an array of activities, for example; running, skipping, dancing, exercise drills...

This break gives our pupils the opportunity to refresh their bodies and minds, so that they can continue their learning and be the best they can be.

Bikeability

At Burton Leonard Primary School Year 6 pupils have the opportunity to experience Level 1 and Level 2 Bikeability before leaving school.

‘Bikeability ’is Cycling Proficiency for the 21st century, designed to give young people the skills and confidence to ride their bikes safely on today’s roads. More information regarding the Bikeability scheme is available at:

https://bikeability.dft.gov.uk

Our training sessions are provided by Stage 1 Cycles and delivered by two fully-qualified national instructors.

We feel it is crucial that our children have the confidence to use bicycles and roads safely, along with the opportunity to stay fit and healthy.
